Distinguish a slice from a whole quiche
Diameter alone does not reveal how many meals a quiche will provide. Thickness, filling and side dishes affect the serving size. Compare weights or stated portions, separating whole pies from individual slices. A vegetable quiche can contain egg, milk or cheese, and the dish name may not explain the complete custard mixture used by the bakery or caterer.
Allow for the equipment needed to reheat it
A chilled or frozen quiche requires a look at preparation instructions before ordering. Packaging may need removal, and timing depends on the particular product. For a shared lunch, ask whether the quiche arrives sliced and whether salad is included. This makes it possible to distribute the portions without discovering that a required oven or knife is unavailable.
