Look beyond the single word curry
A curry may combine vegetables, pulses, meat or fish with very different sauces. Coconut milk, cream, cashews and spice pastes matter to anyone avoiding particular ingredients. Read the actual recipe rather than relying on a familiar dish name. An advertised chilli level describes expected heat; it does not explain the rest of the preparation or establish its suitability for allergies.
Account for rice and bread separately
Some restaurants sell curry on its own, while others include rice or naan in a set meal. Check portions and accompaniments before comparing costs. A sealed sauce container makes serving easier at home. When sharing several curries, identify the boxes and use separate serving utensils if someone needs to avoid an ingredient present in another dish.
