Compare the full cost of the food received
On a student budget, the checkout total matters more than a discount shown beside one dish. Add delivery, service charges and necessary extras, then divide by the number of meals obtained. Sharing portions or reheatable dishes may work if suitable refrigeration is available. Promotional offers also need another check when their introductory period ends or the minimum order changes.
Choose food that suits the accommodation
A student residence may restrict access to upper floors or close reception in the evening. Provide a clear meeting point and keep the phone available during the selected slot. Without a full kitchen, choose food compatible with the equipment actually available. Crous catering and university restaurants offer another route to meals, even where those services do not deliver to a student’s room.
